SPICED ICED TEA

SPICED ICED TEA

This is by far my favourite iced tea. It’s almost like to dessert. It’s sweet and creamy with all these wonderful spices infused into it. I look forward to making this in the summer, but can be savoured anytime of the year.

Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 5 cups water
  • 8 black tea bags
  • 5 whole star anise pods
  • 7 cardamom pods smashed
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • vanilla bean
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, on medium heat, bring the water to a boil. Add the star anise, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon stick.
  • Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise and remove the seeds. Add the seeds and the vanilla bean to the water.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add the tea bags. Allow the tea to steep and cool to room temperature, about 1 hour.
  • Remove the spices and the tea bags. Whisk in the condensed milk.
  • Pour into a large pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.

Notes

This tea can be served over ice, but I like to chill it as the ice will dilute it.
You can garnish it with the star anise or a cinnamon stick.
This will keep in the fridge for a few days.
I love this as an iced tea, but alternatively, this can also be served warm.Â
