SPICED ICED TEA
This is by far my favourite iced tea. It’s almost like to dessert. It’s sweet and creamy with all these wonderful spices infused into it. I look forward to making this in the summer, but can be savoured anytime of the year.
SPICED ICED TEA
Ingredients
- 5 cups water
- 8 black tea bags
- 5 whole star anise pods
- 7 cardamom pods smashed
- 4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- vanilla bean
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, on medium heat, bring the water to a boil. Add the star anise, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon stick.
- Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise and remove the seeds. Add the seeds and the vanilla bean to the water.
- Remove the pan from the heat and add the tea bags. Allow the tea to steep and cool to room temperature, about 1 hour.
- Remove the spices and the tea bags. Whisk in the condensed milk.
- Pour into a large pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
Notes
This tea can be served over ice, but I like to chill it as the ice will dilute it.Â
You can garnish it with the star anise or a cinnamon stick.Â
This will keep in the fridge for a few days.Â
I love this as an iced tea, but alternatively, this can also be served warm.Â
