Having good kitchen equipment will help to make cooking fun. While building up kitchen essentials and accessories, it’s important to look for quality basics and some fun items just because.
Here are some of my favourite pieces . The products I’ve recommended below are items I own and use. I genuinely feel that they are worth your consideration.
I’ve also included some food items that are unique and you may not find in your local grocery store.

A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS
I love this lemon juice. I use it for lemon water, lemonade, and mixed drinks. It tastes like fresh squeezed lemons.
SARA MILLER 3 TIER CAKE STAND
I feel you should always have a tiered cake stand, so why not a pretty one?
LE CREUSET KETTLE
This is a nice size and a good whistling kettle. I got mine in Caribbean Blue as that’s my Le Creuset colour.
THE GINGER PEOPLE SWEET GINGER CHILI SAUCE
This is similar to a thai chili sauce and is the best one…and only one I buy. It’s sweet and spicy with a hit of ginger.
IN THE PANTRY
This is a roasted red pepper and eggplant spread that can be used for so many things like my Turk’ish eggs.
SPROUTED FLAX SEED POWDER
Super nutritious and an easy boost for your smoothies, oatmeal, or my Tahini Flax Hearts.
This instant bone broth is great for soups, smoothies, or just having it with hot water. It’s easier to have opposed to the liquid broth or making it yourself.
I like to sprinkle these on salads or make my Piri Piri Hemp Hearts with them.
INSTANT HONEYED GINGER DRINK
This is a staple in my pantry. I have it with hot water when my throat is sore or make a cocktail with it like my Mango Basil Mimosa.
ORGANIKA ENHANCED COLLAGEN
I add a teaspoon of this to my coffee every morning.
You don’t think you need one until you’ve tried one. It’s great for doing a fine grating of things like lemon zest and parmesan.
GLASS MIXING BOWLS
An essential in every kitchen. It’s a nice set with different sizes. They can be used for serving, storing, and mixing.
MEASURING CUPS & SPOONS
These were given to me as a gift 20 years ago and they still look brand new. I’ve bought plastic ones over the years, but these ones have stayed with me.
LE CREUSET BRAISER
This was a birthday present that started my Le Creuset collection. These cast iron pans are very good quality. They are expensive, but you only buy them once.
This is my choice for a blender. It does everything from making smoothies to grinding coffee beans.
KITCHENAID FOOD CHOPPER
This is a mini version of a food processor and works well. It’s great if you don’t have a lot of space.
KITCHENAID HAND MIXER
I, of course have this in pink because I’m extra. This is an absolute essential for any kitchen. I like KitchenAid products because they are good quality.
KITCHENAID STAND MIXER
I always said that my housewarming gift to myself when I buy my own place would be a pink kitchen aid, and that’s exactly what I got. You don’t have to get pink, but this stand mixer is the best.
DISPOSABLE ICING BAGS
If you have ever cleaned a reusable icing bag, you understand the struggle and why I use these. Easy use, easy cleanup.
OPEN STAR PIPING TIP #1M
If you only have one icing tip, it should be this. It’s the starter tip and is good for cakes, cupcakes, even devilled eggs and mashed potatoes.
COOKIE BATTER SCOOP
I use this to get the perfect measure for my cupcakes. One scoop for mini and two scoops for regular. Comes out perfect everytime.
MINI CUPCAKE TRAY
If you’re making mini cupcakes, you’re usually making a lot of them. This makes 48 mini cupcakes. Instead of multiple batches, you can do one big batch.
