GREEN SMOOTHIE

Smoothies are my favourite everyday dessert. I use kefir for its probiotic properties. It’s a fermented milk drink that has lots of good bacteria. Coconut oil has so many health benefits and when I first heard of adding it to a smoothie, I was skeptical, but it totally works. You don’t taste the oil, all you get is the fragrant aroma of coconut in the background. I use a banana for sweetness, the frozen fruit to make to cold and for flavour. As for the spinach, you don’t even taste it. This is one of the best ways to drink your greens.

Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsweetened organic kefir
  • ½ cup baby spinach
  • 1 banana
  • ¼ cup frozen mango
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions
 

  • Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. About 30 seconds.
  • Enjoy cold.

Notes

You can make so many different varieties of this drink. The base should be the kefir and banana. But change up the frozen fruit and greens.
I used unsweetened kefir because I like to control how much sugar is in the drink.
