TAHINI FLAX HEARTS

These are the perfect snack to pop in your mouth. Even though they are small, they are quite filling.

TAHINI FLAX HEARTS

Equipment

  • silicon ice cube trays

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup tahini
  • 1 cup sprouted flax meal
  • ¼ cup monk fruit sugar
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Put coconut oil in a small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds until melted.
  • Mix all the other ingredients together and add the coconut oil.
  • Put into moulds and freeze for at least 2 hours.
  • Remove from the mould and put in an airtight container.
  • Keep frozen.

Notes

I will have two at a time as a serving, as they are filling with the tahini and flax seeds.
When they come to room temperature they get soft and will fall apart, so it is best to keep them frozen.
I use sprouted flax seed because I find it has a nice nutty taste and is more nutritious, but ground flax can be substituted if you don’t have sprouted. 
You will need silicon ice cube trays, I got the heart shaped ones at IKEA. If you use regular plastic tray, it will be very difficult to get them out.
