TAHINI FLAX HEARTS
These are the perfect snack to pop in your mouth. Even though they are small, they are quite filling.
TAHINI FLAX HEARTS
Equipment
- silicon ice cube trays
Ingredients
- ½ cup tahini
- 1 cup sprouted flax meal
- ¼ cup monk fruit sugar
- 2 tbsp coconut oil melted
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅛ tsp salt
Instructions
- Put coconut oil in a small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds until melted.
- Mix all the other ingredients together and add the coconut oil.
- Put into moulds and freeze for at least 2 hours.
- Remove from the mould and put in an airtight container.
- Keep frozen.
Notes
I will have two at a time as a serving, as they are filling with the tahini and flax seeds.
When they come to room temperature they get soft and will fall apart, so it is best to keep them frozen.
I use sprouted flax seed because I find it has a nice nutty taste and is more nutritious, but ground flax can be substituted if you don’t have sprouted.
You will need silicon ice cube trays, I got the heart shaped ones at IKEA. If you use regular plastic tray, it will be very difficult to get them out.
