SPICED PITA CHIPS
I don’t have measurements for this recipe because you can make as many as you like. Pita chips are so easy to make and are much better than the store bought ones. The best part is you can customize them by adding different spices. I used za’atar spice for this because I was serving these with hummus. But honestly, it’s so good you could just eat them on their own.
SPICED PITA CHIPS
Ingredients
- Thick pitas or mini pita breads
- Olive oil
- Za'atar spice
- Sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Brush each pita with olive oil and sprinkle them with za'atar spice and salt. If you are using whole pitas, cut them into 8 pieces.
- Place the pitas on a baking sheet in an even layer.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let them cool a bit so you can hold them.
Notes
These pita chips are made to order. They are best right out of the oven.
I like to serve them with different dips like hummus or bean dip.
Za’atar spice is a mix of roasted sesame seeds, oregano, sumac and thyme. It can be used for many things. I like to put some in olive oil and use it for dipping bread, and I also finish my turk’ish eggs with it.
