GARDE MANGER

Located in Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal), you have to make a reservation one month in advance, but the food is good and the atmosphere is fun. It’s owned by celebrity chef Chuck Hughes and he did one of his cooking shows here. This place is expensive but for a special night out – totally worth it.

ST-VIATEUR BAGEL

This bagel shop has multiple locations around Montreal. It’s the traditional Montreal bagel. You can buy some to go, but stop by for breakfast or brunch. They make sandwiches, eggs benny, or even lox and bagel which is what I got. Their dishes come with different salads to choose from.

ROCKABERRY

Stop by one of their locations for a sweet treat. They have amazing pies and cakes. There’s an assortment of the traditional desserts and then ones that are unique to them. When I was there I got their take on a Tarte au Sucré (sugar pie). It was a layer of cake soaked in maple syrup, the Tarte au Sucré filling which is a thick sweet paste, all held together in a pie crust and topped with whipped cream.

L’OEUFRIER

My favourite type of breakfast is eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, and something sweet like pancakes. This place does exactly that and they do it well. I went there twice so I could get the crepes with one meal and the waffles the next time. There’s a lot to choose from and it’s all really good. The nutella banana crepe was my favourite. It’s reasonably priced and you won’t need to eat again till dinner.
