SPICED PITA CHIPS

Course Snack

Ingredients
  

  • Thick pitas or mini pita breads
  • Olive oil
  • Za'atar spice
  • Sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Brush each pita with olive oil and sprinkle them with za'atar spice and salt. If you are using whole pitas, cut them into 8 pieces.
  • Place the pitas on a baking sheet in an even layer.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let them cool a bit so you can hold them.

Notes

These pita chips are made to order. They are best right out of the oven. 
I like to serve them with different dips like hummus or bean dip.
Za'atar spice is a mix of roasted sesame seeds, oregano, sumac and thyme. It can be used for many things. I like to put some in olive oil and use it for dipping bread, and I also finish my turk'ish eggs with it.
